Happy New Year!!
SKILS’KIN is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 serving individuals with disabilities in the Inland NorthWest; Great Falls, MT; and Cheyenne, WY. We actually have two very separate roles.
1) An employer who hires people with significant disabilities through the AbilityOne program and commercial contracts
2) A direct-care provider offering services including a) employment support allowing people with disabilities to obtain and sustain a job, b) community living services allowing individuals to live in their own homes with assistance to increase their independence, and c) protective payee services to assist those who need help with their finances to budget and pay their bills.
SKILS’KIN participates in the AbilityOne program providing contracted services to the Federal Government, such as custodial, grounds maintenance, postal services, and food service. By maintaining a standard of assuring that 75% or more of our employees have some type of significant disability, whether physical, cognitive, or emotional/behavioral in nature, SKILS’KIN is able to bid on and given preference to many contracts with the Federal Government. By integrating our abilities to support people with disabilities and providing work accommodations as an employer, we participate in a win/win situation for people with disabilities and our communities and country.
Many of SKILS’KIN’s contracts are with the department of defense, therefore we have extensive contact with the military. SKILS’KIN takes great pride and honor in supporting our military men and women.
