Project SEARCH

Project SEARCH is a unique program that was developed at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. The program was developed after the American College of Healthcare Executives adopted a policy to take the lead to increase employment opportunities in a hospital setting for people with disabilities.
In 2006, SKILS’KIN was selected as the only supported employment agency to partner with Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and serve as a single point of entry for jobs at the medical center. SKILS’KIN matches qualified individuals with open positions in a variety of hospital settings. We provide on-the-job support, such as job training, job coaching, and adaptations to help employees successfully perform their jobs.
SKILS’KIN has helped individuals obtain positions such as Activities Therapist Assistant, Distribution Clerk, Patient Chart Care Aid, Cafeteria Staff, Laboratory Specimen Processor, and Sterile Processing and Decontamination Messenger.
