Payee Services

SKILS'KIN's Payee Services division is a Representative Payee Program as defined by the Social Security Administration. We partner with the Social Security Administration, the Department of Social and Health Services, The Department of Mental Health and other professionals to provide a safety net for clients who are incapable of successfully managing their own funds.

The Representative Payee Program's primary objective is to ensure that individuals continue to receive their monthly benefits and utilize those benefits to pay for shelter, food, and clothing so they may live as functionally independent and as comfortable as possible within the means of their limited income. Each individual we serve is provided and individual plan and is invited to be an active participant in their plan. Bill payment and disbursement of funds is completed in a regular and timely manner. We encourage all bills be sent directly to the Payee Services office for accurate bill paying and so that we may interact directly with the vendors on the client's behalf.

Currently we are serving over 1,000 clients in Washington, Idaho and Montana. SKILS'KIN is now providing a payee service for private pay individuals in the community, assisted living facilities or long term care. Private pay clients may individually apply for services or be referred by a family member, legal counsel or social or governmental agency.

New Improvements to come!
Coming soon, we will be offering the Life Freedom Card program to our clients. This is a PIN-based Prepaid Debit Card that will provide our clients convenience, security and cost savings. No longer will our clients have to budget 3 or 4 hours to visit our offices for a check. No longer will our remote clients have to wait for a check in the mail. No longer will clients be subject to high fees for cashing checks. Lastly, and maybe most significant to our clients is, that when purchasing groceries, they will no longer appear to be anything other than an ordinary shopper. We are the first Organizational Representative Payee provider in Spokane County to offer this to their clients. We are excited about the convenience it will bring to our customer base as well as the opportunity to expand our services.
